Coding the Coal Region is a 12-month pilot program created by Wilkes-Barre Connect - the entrepreneurial and economic development arm of the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber, and funded, in partnership with the Appalachian Regional Commission.
BACKGROUND
Our vision for Coding the Coal Region is ambitious and bold: We want to make Northeastern Pennsylvania THE hub of an advanced computer programming workforce - utilizing a short-term (Post-Grad) and long-term (K-12) approach.
OUR VISION
The K-12 component provides students with access to computer programming courses, outside the classroom. The Post-Grad component provides our existing workforce with access to industry-led computer programming training courses.
